2,300 Members & Guests Attend 2008 District Meetings
Isn’t it a great time of the year? Springtime, green grass, farmers preparing to go to the field, NWREC’s four District Meetings and the start of golf season. In all seriousness, we did have four very good district meetings during the last week of March and first week of April. Over 2,300 members and guests attended and enjoyed a very good meal, short information meeting and outstanding family entertainment with the Brown Family.
We were very pleased with the attendance and have received many very nice comments from members. If you attended one of the meetings, we want to thank you for taking time from your busy schedule to join us. We hope you enjoyed it. If you weren’t able to join us this year, we hope you will consider attending next year. The success of your Cooperative is dependent on the support we receive from the members and your attendance at one of our District Meetings, is a strong indication of the support we are so fortunate to have.
Incumbent Directors Re-elected
As a member-owned organization, our members have the opportunity and important responsibility of electing directors at our district meetings. To maximize the amount of member involvement in this very important process, the Cooperative’s By-Laws allows for voting by mail. Members can also vote at the District Meeting if they have not previously voted by mail.
The results of the director elections this year were as follows:
District I (Sioux) - Jeff Rehder was re-elected
District II (O’Brien) - Tom Wagner was re-elected
District III (Plymouth) - Steve Brown was re-elected
District IV (Ida) - Charlie Rohlf was re-elected
We extend our congratulations to each these directors for being re-elected to three year terms and we want to thank the following members for their willingness to be a candidate for a director position this year: Tom Kellen, Lon Vogt, Kenneth Less and Clark Conover.
